Russia comfortably beat the hosts Estonia to book the ticket to the FIVB 2018 Men’s World Championship

Tallinn, Estonia. May 28, 2017. Russia comfortably beat the hosts Estonia 1-3 (25-21, 21-25, 18-25, 19-25) to book the ticket to the FIVB 2018 Men’s World Championship which co-hosted by Italy and Bulgaria. Russians were playing very aggressively on a high note to wins 5 games in 5 days, they played a very successful tournament before the upcoming World League. The opponents had more energy in front of their fans but Maxim Mikhailov swept 19 points to the following fourth sets to make sure their supremacy in the group.

“It worked in our favour that we have so many equally strong players. Still at the beginning of the match we were too tense, Estonia had a superb serve and a raucous support from their fans. The end of the second set was very important considering the outcome of the match and in the third and fourth sets our players were more relaxed,” Shlyapnikov said.
