Córdoba, Mexico. July 15, 2017. U20 Russia made no mistake with the conversion to hand the home side Mexico a 3-1 lead (25-15, 23-25, 25-17, 25-14) of the FIVB U20 Women’s World Championship in Pool A. Russia enjoyed much of the possession in the opening minutes of the match and showed the sustained pressure on a resolute defence. A cagey start to the second set saw plenty of handling errors from both sides, however, it was the home side who would bring up their bonus point to win 23-25. Mexico missed chances as poor defensive work, Russia another try to enjoy all the possession to finish 3-1 at the end of the match. Maria Vorobyeva added the extra 16 points, following Anna Kotikova and Victoriya Russu were given the marching orders to score 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Another match against Egypt will be scheduled on July 16 at 15:00 local time.
