Russia in a big clash at home against The Netherlands in 0-3

Kaliningrad, Russia. July 16, 2017. Russia in a big clash at home against The Netherlands in 0-3 (18-25, 22-25, 16-25) in Pool F1 of the 2017 FIVB World Grand Prix. Russia has been disappointed not to come away with third home wins in Kaliningrad, but will be hoping the refreshing look to the team will make the difference against Serbia in Hong Kong stage. Both sides head into the match with sky-high confidence ,but Holland find themselves sitting pretty at the top of the game and managed to claim a tough 3-0 victory over Russia. The middle blocker and captain Irina Zaryazhko-Koroleva has a positive outlook and were working hard to put a good performance together, scored 11 points.

In the third round, Russia will fly to Hong Kong to prepare the last stage of the FIVB World Grand Prix. The first match with Serbia will be started on July 21 at 18:30 local time.

Russia coach Vladimir Kuzyutkin: Netherlands team is a stable and a well built. We played with a will to win and enthusiasm. Our players are new and they need a lot of practice. We failed to play fast. We will do our best to improve it.

Russia captain Irina Zaryazhko: We didn’t play good in defense and attack tonight, but we didn’t give up.
