Riffa, Bahrain. August 19, 2017. Argentina were simply too strong to win over Russia in 3-1 (20-25, 25-13, 25-23, 26-24) in Pool C of the 2017 FIVB Boy’s U19 World Championship at the Isa City Sports Hall. It did not take long for Russia to open the scoreboard, but in the second set was off to a slower start and too many handling errors, Argentina led 25-13. Argentina were keeping under pressure in their own territory, the opposite hitter Juan Barrera showed an individual effort to score the top 13 points. Yet, this was simply too little too late for Russia, the more experienced Argentina side held their form, continued their 100% winning record to win the match in 3-1.

Russia will be played with Chile on August 21 at 15:00 local time.

Russia coach Andrey Nozdrin: Argentina is a very fast team with perfect defence, while we had some problems with our attack today. It is only our second match and so we can play better and faster in the next matches.
