epankovaSetter Ekaterina Pankova’s transfer to Dinamo Moscow is a serious loss for Zarechie Odintsovo, said head coach Vadim Pankov.

Pankova (Kosyanenko after marriage), since 2007 stands for Zarechie, she has signed a two-year contract with Dinamo Moscow. Last season, the 24-year-old Setter has won the Challenge Cup 2014 and the winner of the 2013 Universiade and the 2013 European Championship.

“It is hard to find someone to replace Pankova. This is a serious loss for us, Katya plays at the level of the best teams in the world. It will be difficult to cope with this loss to us. It takes time until we all learn to play without her. The faster we can do it, the better it is. Begin in July.”- Pankov said by telephone.

Pankova will be replaced  by Olga Efimova from Ufimochka in Zarechie. Also a part of the Moscow Region, the team in the offseason expanded libero Alla Galeeva from Novy Urengoy Fakel.

“Efimova played for the youth team in 1990 with my daughter (Pankova), and Galeeva also passed the youth team in school. This is their advantage – they are familiar with other players of our team, especially in terms of establishing the connection within the team. Only need to work on improving the game. Of course, it will be harder in this regard, but Efimova fits the trend of fast playing.”- said the head coach from r-sport.
